\nThe Commission has a two-fold mandate: to foster equality and to reduce discrimination. It fulfills this mandate through public education and community initiatives, through the resolution and settlement of complaints of discrimination, and through human rights tribunal and court hearings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\nThe BC Human Rights Tribunal is an independent, quasi-judicial body created by the BC Human Rights Act. The Tribunal is responsible for the acceptance, screening, mediation and arbitration of human rights complaints. The Tribunal offers the parties to a complaint the opportunity to try to resolve the complaint through mediation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n<\/a>The Manitoba Human Rights Commission is an independent agency of the Government of Manitoba and is responsible for administering the Human Rights Code.\u00a0\u00a0It is\u00a0responsible for promoting human rights principles and educating the public about the rights and responsibilities in the Code as well as for\u00a0administering a complaint process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n<\/a>The New Brunswick Human Rights Commission is the government agency responsible for the administration of the\u00a0Human Rights Act<\/i>. The mandate of the Commission as described in the\u00a0Act\u00a0<\/i>is to forward the principle that every person is free and equal with dignity and respect, to promote an understanding of, acceptance of, and compliance with the\u00a0Act,\u00a0<\/i>to administer the mechanism for complaint intake and resolution\u00a0<\/i>and to develop and conduct educational programs designed to eliminate discriminatory practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\nThe Human Rights Commission is an independent at arm\u2019s length government agency that is responsible for promoting an understanding of, acceptance of, and compliance with the provisions of the\u00a0Human Rights Act<\/i>. The\u00a0Human Rights Act<\/i>\u00a0is a provincial law that protects people in Newfoundland and Labrador from discrimination and harassment. The\u00a0Human Rights Act<\/i>\u00a0recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of all people, that we all have equal rights and opportunities and should live free from discrimination and harassment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n<\/a>The Northwest Territories Human Rights Commission wants the NWT to put diversity, fairness, security and inclusion at the forefront so that everyone is treated on an equal footing. Among other things, it manages a process for handling discrimination complaints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
